Pink Wellington Boots

Pink gardening tools - so OK, I'm a guy and I don't get it. Why in the world do we need pink gardening tools. We have pink gloves, boots and ever tools.

So I've filled in this small form and I'm going to ask you to tell me why we need pink gardening tools - what's the deal here?

for the cause
by: Jesi

I've found that you can find just about ANYTHING manufactured in the color pink, and that a portion of the cost goes to breast cancer research. I'm not a girly-girl, but I'll happily buy the pink ones to support a good cause. In fact- I'd pay a few extra bucks if they had brightly colored puzzle pieces allover the handles to raise autism awareness!

Pink Tools
by: Cyndy

Pink tools make a lot of sense for me. I buy pink screwdrivers, gardening gloves and the like because then my husband will not use them and I will always be able to find them. Not to mention that they are easy to see when they accidentally end up in the compost pile!!

WHY PINK PAINT?
by: Michele

I started spray painting my garden tools when I lived between 2 senior citizen gardeners. (I was 27 at the time) We regularly worked on each others yards, and we shared the 80yr old widow's enormous veggie patch. I was worried that I would accidentally steal thier tools, which were much nicer than mine, so I painted mine to solve the problem. It worked! While working out of my dad's plumbing shop, I spray painted ALL my tools hot pink so the boys would stop losing my stuff. It worked! Bottom Line: Pink Paint for Protection. :)

Colored gardening tools
by: Carolyn

Pink -- orange -- yellow -- turquoise -- any color that ISN'T green, brown, or black is great for anything you might put down. I've misplaced too many gloves and tools to ever go back to nice-looking earthtone ones!

As for pink Wellies or clogs (etc.)? Why, that's just for silliness, and/or indulging in one's favorite color(s). Also, to deter more conservative people from stealing one's best yardworthy outerwear.

Who Knows

I can see pink or any bright colour for small tools that get put down to go do something else, forget where I left off which means a hunt occurs - usual seen easier than green etc. But give me good old black wellies that don't look that dirty.
